The customs
The customs of the Ancient Romans showed their way of expressing their culture. The customs of the Ancient Roman Empire were very different then weddings today. The bride had to wear a white tunic with a belt called the,"Knot of Hercules". The bride also had to wear an orange veil and shoes with her tunic. The bride was also accompanied by her bridesmaids down the aisle. In short, the customs expressed their culture.
The CeremonyThe first part of the wedding ceremony took place at the family of the bride's house. Their was a proclamation between the bride and groom, it was sort of alike to the present day prenup. After the proclamation was signed a huge feast was in order. After the ceremony was over the groom carried his bride through the threshold.
